About

A studio of one. Deliberately.

I'm Ajay Kumar Emani. I spent about three years in program management and business operations at a fintech lender and a services marketplace. That meant living inside the repetitive work that quietly eats a team's week, and answering for it when it did not get done.

The systems I built there were not clever. Each one removed a manual step that was costing real money: an eligibility check that meant sending a message and waiting, a failure queue someone had to remember to clear, a report put together by hand every month. They worked because I understood the process first and chose the tools second.

Lytheo is that work, done for other people's businesses. One person, on purpose. Whoever looks at your operations is the same person who builds the system, and the same person who answers when it breaks. No account managers. No handovers. Nobody learning your business from a brief.

  • Direct accessYou talk to the person building it, at every stage.
  • Operations backgroundAbout three years running business operations, so my first question is what a process costs you — not what would be interesting to build.
  • Priced on paybackBefore I build anything, I work out what the process costs you now in hours and money. If a system would cost more than it saves, I tell you not to build it.

Straight answers

What Lytheo is, and what it is not yet

Where I am today

Lytheo started in 2026 and is taking on its first clients now. The experience described here is real, and you can check it against my LinkedIn profile and resume. But I earned it in-house, as an employee rather than as a consultant — and you should hear that from me rather than work it out later.

Why I am telling you this

Because you will find it out anyway, and finding it out yourself after being told something else is the fastest way for me to lose a client I could have kept. The practical consequence is on the pricing page: the audit is free, the price is fixed, the payments follow delivered work, and you own everything at the end. Those terms exist to make hiring someone new a low-risk decision rather than a leap of faith.

Where my experience genuinely applies

Business process automation, workflow design, and getting systems adopted by people who did not ask for them — which is the part most technical builds get wrong. I have spent three years being accountable for whether an operational change actually stuck, not just whether it shipped.

Where it does not

Large-scale machine learning, custom model training, high-volume consumer product engineering, and anything needing a team. If your problem is one of those, I will tell you on the call and, where I can, point you somewhere sensible. Taking a project I should not take is worse for me than losing it.

Background

Where the experience was earned

Three years in business operations and programme management, inside a consumer-lending fintech and a services marketplace — running programmes end to end across product, engineering, sales, data, finance and customer experience. The work was always the same shape underneath: find where a process was quietly costing the business time or money, then rebuild it so it stopped. That meant putting underwriting data in front of sales staff while they were still on the call, taking roughly a third of the manual effort out of a national collections workflow, and replacing hand-assembled funnel reports with reporting that builds itself. Lytheo is the same job, done for smaller businesses, with AI doing more of the work.

Employers are named by sector rather than by name, because confidentiality obligations outlast a job. The LinkedIn profile has the full detail and is the place to verify any of this.

Automation is not about replacing people. It is about letting people spend their time on work that deserves it.

Business first
Process second
AI third

In that order, deliberately. Most automation projects fail because they start with a tool and go looking for a use. I start with the business outcome, model the human process that produces it, and only then decide whether AI belongs anywhere in it. Often it does not — and the honest answer is a simpler system.

Plain language

Weekly updates you do not have to decode. If you need me to translate a status update, I wrote it badly.

Documented

Every workflow and integration written up so your team, or any developer you hire later, can take it over cleanly.

Honest scope

If off-the-shelf software solves it, or a process is not worth automating, I say so. Including when it costs me the project.

Built around how you work

No recycled workflows. Systems fit your actual process — usually the reason off-the-shelf did not.
